A court in Johannesburg, South Africa sentenced the accused man believe to be the masterminded of bomb blast during the celebration of 50th anniversary of Nigeria independent.
Henry Okah who was convicted of 13 terrorism offences has been jailed for twenty four years in South Africa.
Okah was found guilty over two explosions in March 2010 in southern Nigeria City of Warri, a major hub in oil-rich Delta region.
The 46-years-old-Okah, is a permanent residency in South Africa and has denied any involvement in the bombings and of being the leader of The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND).
Police however, identified him as "an international gun-runner and a major oil bunkerer (thief) in the Niger Delta."
Henry Okah has had several run-ins with the law. In September 2007 for instance, he was arrested for arms and explosives trafficking in Angola and later extradited to Nigeria.
Why delivering his judgment, Judge Neels Claassen said, "Effectively, the accused Okah is therefore sentenced to 24 years imprisonment,"
