Nigerian Gets 18 Years’ Jail For Carrying Drugs In His Stomach


What is this world turning to? Making money or what? Of recent, a grandma was caught in possession of drugs and this time is a gentle man. Must you do unlawful things before you make it in life?

Well, this is a story of Francis Ikenna Nwannochie, 27; a Nigerian that was caught at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with a stash of drugs in his stomach, pleaded guilty having 389.8gm of methamphetamine and slapped with 18 years jail by the High Court.


He was caught on February 29, 2012 when Customs authorities noticed his suspicious walk. They took him to the Serdang Hospital for x-ray text which confirmed the presence of foreign lump in his stomach. The lump was later found to consist of 54 capsules of methamphetamine.

The judge, Justice Datuk Abdul Alim Abdullah ordered Nwannochies’s jail term to run effective from the date of arrest. He also said the Nigerian is lucky to get away with an alternative charge of drug possession instead of the initial drug trafficking charge that attracted death sentence upon conviction.
