The ongoing ASUU Strike is likely to coming
to an end as FG and ASUU is re-entering another negotiation with the federal
government. In 2009, FG and ASUU signed a nine point’s agreement that they
believed will tackle the problems Nigerian Universities are facing but FG not
faithful to the agreement.
The Federal Government is now
renegotiating the 2009 agreement according to the minister of Labour and
productivity as the present administration believed that the 2009 nine points
ASUU/FG agreement predate the present administration. Hence, there is need to
renegotiate the agreement.
The minister, Chief Emeka Wogu told
Journalists on Tuesday that the Government renegotiation with ASUU in order to
clear some times and quickly resolve the issue on ground. He however, urged the
striking lecturers to return to classroom and start work.
