Police yesterday declared wanted the leader of a former militant group, Young Money alias Virus and 17 others linked with the killing of 11 policemen along the creek of Lobia in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The 11 policemen were ambushed and killed on April 5 by members of the militant group now at large.
Only a suspect allegedly involved in the killing, Mr. Jasper Feutobobai, has been arrested and currently being detained in police custody in Yenagoa.
Feutobobai was said to have dropped out of school as a Law student at the stateowned Niger Delta University, Amassoma.
In a statement issued yesterday in Yenagoa, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, said the wanted suspects were found culpable and involved in the killing of the policemen.
The suspects declared wanted include Lucky Gbakumo alias Blacky, Egedin Sunday alias Community, Emeka Samuel, Blacky Wikewei, Idowu Mathew, Odobogheonuru Famous and Odenyen Zinikiware.
The suspects were all identified as beneficiaries of the ongoing Amnesty Programme for former militants in the Niger Delta.
Akhigbe said the continued interrogation of Feutobobai led the police to declare the 18 suspects wanted.
