Chelsea bound Kenneth Omeruo will make his trip to the Stamford Bridge sealed if he participates at the forthcoming Brazil 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup with the Super Eagles a top source of the Nigerian has revealed.

Omeruo who was a stand-out performer for Nigeria at the South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations after crashing in late to the team has stayed in Holland with ADO Den Haag for the past two seasons on loan from
Chelsea who acquired his services from Belgian side Standard Liege in 2011.
One of the player’s representatives in a telephone interview told SportingLife that Omeruo’s inclusion in the

Nigeria’s squad to the Confederation Cup will make it smooth for the Abia-born defender to have his work permit processed with ease having played at the Nations Cup too.

He said Omeruo has already bid ADO Den Haag players and officials bye and would definitely return to
Chelsea for the pre-season after they got assurances from the top shot of the current UEFA Europa League champions that he has a future with them.

“Kenneth is going to England to resume his career with Chelsea. ADO did all what they could to change his mind but he already knew his mind was out of Holland and now with Chelsea. He has thanked the players and officials of Den Haag.

“He is currently working on getting his travel documents intact and most especially, he needs more international matches with Nigeria to enable him get a work permit. Although, he featured at the AFCON, that alone won’t be enough to guarantee that but if he makes the squad to the Confederation Cup, his work permit processing will be smooth,” the source said.

Omeruo had his first game for Nigeria’s Eagles during the friendly match with Catalonia in Spain at the beginning of the year and he went ahead to play a major role as the Eagles marched unto their third AFCON glory in South Africa in February.

He was also rock solid in the heart of defence for ADO Den Haag where he was voted the club’s player of the season. He also made the team of the season list in Holland this past season.
