LADIPO MARKET IN LAGOS STATE RE-OPENED
The popular Ladipo Auto Spare parts market in Lagos State was reopen today with Conditions. Two weeks ago, the market which was located at mushin local government Lagos state was shut by the state government for violation of Lagos State environmental laws.
Meanwhile, the Imo State Governor, Owelle Okorocha and Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola was last week Thursday visited the Market with Okorocha appalling on behalf of the marketers for re-opening of the Market. The Governor insisted that the market will be re-opened when the environment pollution is properly addressed.
Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Environment on Monday after meeting with the Traders’ Association in the market announced the re-opening of the Market for normal operation with conditions.
Conditions given are: Non-conversion of the drainage right of way (ROW) into trading points and mechanic workshops; Non-conversion of the access roads in the market for Trading activities, No dumping of wastes and vehicle parts into the canal, maintaining the general cleanliness of the market environment at all times and Ladipo Central Executive Committee, LACEC, shall be empowered to ensure same. Signing of triple agreement.
