A 55-year-old man, Titiloye Tella,
was remanded by Senior Magistrate Court in Osogbo the capital city of Osun
State for allegedly defiling and raping an 11-year-old girl.
Titiloye
Tella who was a farmer perpetrated the ct on 31st of August 2013 at around
nine in the morning.

gathered that, the 11-year-old girl who hawks old newspaper sold N20 old
newspaper to the accused man, after which he allegedly gagged and dragged her
into his bedroom where he allegedly raped her.
The
victim narrated the incident to her parent and the father reported at the
family unit of Oja Oba police station in Osogbo, Osun State Capital.
The
charge against Tella read, “That you Titiloye Tella did unlawfully have carnal
knowledge of one ‘Tapepa’, aged 11 years, by dragging her into the yard of your
house and cover her mouth with clothe and thereby committed an offence contrary
to and punishable under section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws
of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.”
The
accused claimed to have been living alone since his wife divorce him pleaded
not guilty.
The
Senior Magistrate therefore adjourned the case till 11th of December
this year while the accused will be reminded in Ilesa prison. However, his
lawyer is to furnish the court with a written application for bail.
