John Mikel Obi has been ruled
out of today’s match against South African. The Chelsea and Super Eagle midfielder
will not be playing the international friendly match between Nigeria and South
African in honour of Nelson Mandela as a result of Stomach upset.
Ben Alaiya, who is the team’s
media officer, said on Tuesday in Durban that Obi’s Club Chelsea FC of England informed
the national team handler that Mikel will not be able to honour the match as a
result of stomach upset.
Already, Emmanuel Emenike and Kenneth
Omeru have earlier been ruled out of the match that was scheduled to be played
today at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.
However, the Super Eagles are
now set for the match as there are numbers of capable players set for the match
which include Mikel’s team mate, Victor Moses.
We wish AFCON 2013 Champion, Super
Eagle of Nigeria, a successful outing!
