A 32-year-old nursing mother, Idowu Funmilola, was arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court in Kwara State for allegedly stabbing her co-wife, Mrs Idowu Abayomi.
The accused was said to have inflicted knife wounds all over her victim’s body during a fight on July 7 at Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin, the state capital.

The complaint said the accused charmed their husband, which resulted in him abandoning her.
“I went to see our husband in his apartment, where the two of them stay, to ask him why he had abandoned me and our two kids.

“She did not allow our husband to give answer to my question before she started abusing me. This later led to a fight between us and she ran inside, picked a knife and stabbed me all over my body,” the complainant told the court.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Al-Hassan Jubril, told the court that investigation was ongoing and asked for an adjournment to conclude the investigation.

The  presiding magistrate, Mrs Ibijoke Olawoyin, in her ruling, released the accused on bail in the sum of N20,000, with two sureties in the same amount.

The case was adjourned to July 24 for continuation of hearing.
