The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has slashed down the film distribution licensing fee from N500,000 to N200,000.

This was made known recently in a stakeholders meeting held with film distributors and the management of the films and videos censors board.

According to Patricia Bala, the Acting DG of the board, the move is aimed at breathing a new life into the board’s New Distribution and Exhibition Framework (NDEF).

The fee reduction which also apply to other categories of licenses would have National Distributors paying N200,000 as against N500,000, Regional Distributors paying N100,000 as against N50,000 and Community Distributors paying N10,000 as against N25,000.

Furthermore, license renewal fees has also been slashed with National Distributors now paying N100,000, Regional Distributors to pay N25,000 and Community Distributors to pay N10,000.
