The British deputy high commissioner (DHC), Mr Peter Carter, has described as criminals those involved in illegal bunkering in Niger Delta as well as others scooping of Nigeria’s crude oil illegally.
Mr Carter warned that if President Goodluck Jonathan do not keep sentiments aside and take bold steps and necessary actions to checkmate the activities of people in the Niger Delta who are into sophisticated stealing of crude oil, the impact it will have on Nigeria would be colossal…
The high commissioner stated this during a chat with Leadership in Lagos on Sunday. He also cautioned the federal government on the steps being taken, saying full measures have become imperative now to wrestle the criminals before they wreck Nigeria.
“Those who steal the Nigeria oil are criminals and their activities are not in the economic interest of the country and her people,” he declared bluntly.
