Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) today battled to put out the fire of a tanker carrying 40,000 liters of gasoline after the engine of the tanker exploded.

A NEMA source as well as eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that the explosion took place on Friday  May 10, 2013 at Ogere on the outskirts of Lagos. A resident of the area told our correspondent that the fire would have wreaked havoc if it had not been brought under control.
