LASU killings: SUG makes case for arrested students

The Students’ Union Government of the Lagos State University on Wednesday urged the authorities of the school to make provisions for 34 students who missed some days of the ongoing   examinations.
In a statement, the SUG’s Public Relations Officer, Adeleke Stephen, said the students did not miss the examinations deliberately.
PUNCH Metro had reported that about 34 students of the school missed the first two days of the first semester examinations which began on Monday.
The students were detained by the police in connection with the killings of two students of the school – Hip Hop artiste, Damilola Olaniyan aka Damino Damoche; and Kabiru Atoyebi.

Stepehn said, “The police indescriminately arrested the students, only to release them later. This is a clear case of security lapse from the police because some of the students will get automatic extra-year because of the development.”
The PRO said the union was going to do all it could for the students so that they could get a reprieve from the LASU management.
He said,“LASUITES are peace-loving people and we urge all students to maintain the peace.”
